Kjell has 20+ years of experience in architecture, management, software development working in Fortune 500 companies, the public sector and start-ups. Most of his experience comes from working as a consultant, implementing E2E solutions for B2B customers, often in collaboration with different implementation partners.
Kjell has a Bachelor in Applied Information Sciences, a Bachelor in International Business and a Master in Business Engineering. This allows him to understand business units’ strategic plans, objectives and processes, identifying options for improvement, designing, implementing the chosen solution and translating the complex technicalities in an understandable way to business owners.
Kjell successfully has led multiple projects as technical lead/architect and thus for the design, implementation and deployment of Enterprise Management Systems, worth 25M+ Euro and this for 5M+ users in 150+ countries. Next to designing the overall architecture, he still like to do hands-on work to maintain his skillset and understand the technical possibilities of the selected tools and the difficulties encountered by the teams. This allowed Kjell to gain experience in different technologies, software and hardware platforms, ecosystems and with specializations in architecture, integration, virtualization, Java development and databases. This broad knowledge allows him to select the best solution for the business problem at hand, both respecting the functional and non-functional boundaries. The last couple of years, Kjell has mainly been working in designing and implementing Multi-cloud solutions on Azure and AWS.
Kjell is a natural leader and has experience as a manager, leading teams up to 50 FTE and budgets up to 3M+ euro and 11.000 man days, in varied business environments, both in Project Management and IT Management. His love to coach people and allow them to grow has given him proven skills in People Management and Team Management.
Kjell has an analytical and critical mind who loves long term planning, but still can descend to a more detail level without losing the global picture. Obtaining results is important for him and often he is the first to tackle difficult problems and loves devising creative solutions to “impossible” problems and in a pragmatic way. He also is a strong believer in the use of best practices (SOLID, API First), methodologies (DDD) and frameworks but applies them pragmatic. Furthermore, he is passionate about structuring data, integrating information streams and systems and automating processes.
